Dynamic Voltage Restorer

RUHSTRAT OLIVER DVR Dynamic Voltage Restorer, mainly composed of an energy storage element, inverter, transfer switch, bypass, etc., connected in series between the power supply and the protected load.   • Working Principle

    Grid voltage within limit:

    When the grid supplies power to the load (online mode), the inverter sleeps but maintains synchronization with the grid voltage to act immediately during grid disturbances.

     

    When voltage sag occurs:

    At the moment of grid disturbance, the anti-parallel thyristor quickly turns off, isolating the load from the grid, and the inverter supplies power to the load.

     

    Grid voltage stabilizes again:

    OLIVER anti-parallel thyristor conducts, the inverter circuit shuts down, the load is powered by the grid again, and the rectifier circuit recharges the energy storage capacitor.

     

    Fault safe bypass operation:

    In case of OLIVER fault or maintenance, the load current will automatically transfer to the fault safe bypass. That is, the current will pass through the contactor or bypass switch of the anti-parallel thyristor to directly supply the load.
