Wind Turbine Temperature Rise Arc Flash Protection System Solution
Arc Flash Protection Main Unit
SPR63-OP Device
SPR63-OP is a fiber optic temperature rise arc flash protection device, specially designed for remote operation and maintenance of wind turbines. It is suitable for monitoring and alarming arc flash, joint temperature, and current. The device consists of a main unit, photoelectric conversion module, electrical temperature sensor, arc flash sensor, optical fiber, and installation accessories. The arc flash sensor is divided into all-optical type, white light type, and ultraviolet type, with adjustable optical fiber action intensity threshold. The photoelectric module supports hot swapping.
SPR63-WT Device
SPR63-WT is a photoelectric temperature rise arc flash protection device, mainly composed of an arc flash main unit, arc flash sensor, and electrical temperature sensor. It realizes arc flash monitoring for the generator, inverter, transformer inside the box transformer, and high and low voltage side switches in the wind turbine. The arc flash sensor only supports ultraviolet light and is insensitive to daily light sources.

Typical Application Solution
Wireless temperature @ current sensors (hereinafter referred to as "wireless electrical temperature sensors") are installed in areas A, B, and C in the above figure to collect current and temperature of the generator outlet and cables inside the tower, achieving over-temperature alarm function.
The arc flash protection system is installed in area C in the above figure. When an arc flash fault occurs, the device will act according to the set output logic.
When arc flash faults occur at measurement points 1 and 2, the device simultaneously trips the switches on both sides to isolate the fault point;
When arc flash faults occur at measurement points 3 and 4, the device simultaneously trips the medium voltage switchgear switch and the two switches on the converter grid side to isolate the fault point.
