Measurement and Submeasurement

Release Date:

2025-08-15

In many automation systems, in addition to basic electrical parameter monitoring, there are also requirements for electrical energy metering. Understanding energy consumption analysis, energy-saving plans, accurate energy balancing, equipment monitoring, and predictive maintenance all require automatic energy branch metering. Energy branch metering data can significantly reduce costs by controlling energy consumption and peak demand. SATEC devices are suitable for all energy branch metering requirements, ranging from basic to the most advanced.

SATEC's eXpertpower™ Billing service completes the branch metering software package. Our online billing service provides a foundational platform supporting various billing requirements: standard rates, time-of-use billing, demand charges, and various additional fees. Additionally, eXpertpower™ Billing offers free calculation of central air conditioning costs, water metering, and gas measurement. Therefore, it provides a one-stop service for all utility billing needs.

SATEC's solution for billing and revenue metering includes various energy meters, multiple communication platforms, and comprehensive management software. The solution is optimized for sub-tenant billing, utility bill verification, and demand forecasting to optimize costs.

Sub-tenant billing is common in various facilities such as apartments, student dormitories, shopping centers, and data centers. SATEC's ExpertPower solution controls the entire system and offers Time Of Use (TOU) energy metering as well as complete invoicing management. In addition, it supports billing of any type of energy, such as Electricity, Water, Gas, Air conditioning, and Steam, via SATEC Power Meters or third-party devices. All SATEC Power Meters allow connection to digital pulse inputs from other energy meters.

Detection of utility overcharges is done by installing a SATEC check meter in parallel to the utility meter, generating a draft bill, and comparing the results. The high accuracy of the meters, typically several times more accurate than the utility’s, as well as the comprehensive calculation options in ExpertPower, guarantees correct measurement and makes it easy to file claims with the utility.

Demand forecasting enables proper generation planning as well as optimizing consumption, particularly in today’s markets with fluctuating energy costs and various generation methods.
